At Church today a Missionary visited to tell us about her mission work. About 10 years ago her husband passed away in a car accident and she had allowed God to challenge His love in a different direction.
After the service she told me an intriguing story. Some one had left notes going down the college railing saying, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. So a young man read this and the Lord burned it into his heart. He couldn't rest and talked to many of his friends. One of his friends said, I think that's in the Bible. The young man went and bought a Bible and started from the front reading to the back. And he didn't find the verse until the end.
He had a dedication unparalelled by most of us. He delved into the Bible because he wanted to know the truth. He hungered for it. Yearned for it. Nothing would keep him from it. How many of us have the vigor to read through the whole Bible to find the truth that we long for? That will search out God until we find Him? That will do whatever it takes to find God's truth?

That's convicting. I'm trying to dig deeper in my Bible instead of floating in Psalms+Proverbs.
